Born in 1978 and studied Fine Art Photography in Marmara University, Istanbul, graduating in 2014. Through his camera work, Ugur seeks to capture the stories told by small communities, ethnic minorities; the pockets of society that are most often overlooked.
Involved in various aspects of photography and film making, Ugur has an extensive knowledge and experience. He had various solo and joint exhibitions in Turkey. He collaborates with NatGeo Turkey frequently and his work about nomads living in Taurus Mountains in Turkey was among his published works through them.
His ability to integrate and connect with ease with people coming from all backgrounds and platforms allows him to see aspects of his subjects' personalities, their inner thoughts which otherwise would be inaccesible to an outsider. This makes him a unique photographer.
